Colors, Fabrics & Trim

Our signature Indigo chore coat uses a 15oz indigo selvedge denim from Kuroki Mills in Ibara, Okayama prefecture in western Japan that was used in the original Dillon Montara releases, a decade ago. The selvedge is marked by an orange ticker.

Details

Our chore coat is where we started; the first one was cut and sewn by Steven more than a decade ago in San Francisco. It’s our interpretation of this timeless workwear piece, but one with carefully considered details.

We've added a subtle curve at the front hem, a tailored, 4-piece collar construction so it lies effortlessly on the neck, and angled pockets so your hands slip right in — once you put this jacket on, you may never want to take it off.

There is a single interior pocket on the left side.We use a single-needle lockstitch machine for all the felled seams. The sleeves are double-sewn into the body, then bound in bias tape. We've reinforced pockets and other stress points with bar tacks. Keyhole buttonholes are sewn on a Reece 101 buttonhole machine. We use YKK donut-hole jeans buttons with 2-prong tacks on the body and cuffs for added strength.

The Chore Coat is unlined.

Delivery Schedule

We make almost all our garments to order. Our goal is to ship your coat to you within two weeks of your order.

When we receive your order, we'll send you an email confirmation with an estimated shipping date. If you have any questions about sizing or other details for your order, we'll resolve those before we start making your coat.

We will take the time to craft a garment that we hope will serve you for many years to come.

Care

This is an all-cotton, denim chore coat. We recommend hand-washing with a gentle detergent, and hanging to dry. When you go longer between washes, your patience will be repaid as the denim ages and fades. The fabric will become softer and more supple with wear.

The coats can also be machine-washed with a gentle cycle. The garment should be turned inside-out and buttoned. Use a front-loading machine to avoid marks that a top-loading agitator can create. Drying in a warm dryer for a short period of time works, but it's best if you take the coat out of the dryer and hang it to finish drying completely.

These garments can also be dry-cleaned.
